Description:    LIONELVILLE 2014

Welcome back to Lionelville for Christmas 2014. Running this year on the Main Line is MTH Santa Fe Hudson #3461 pulling the "Fast Mail Express" passenger train. On the Branch Line is a vintage Lionel 726 Berkshire from 1947 with 2426W tender pulling Lionel 6454 box cars from the late 1940's.

Lionelville is active this year with radio station WLLC having the presentation of a new 1955 red and white Ford Crown Victoria to the contest winner by a Ford executive. As part of the festivities, many celebrities are present, with the day being highlighted by an outdoor performance of the "Santa Fe Jug Band", broadcast live via the stations remote microphone.

Activity is also seen at the Lionelville Lumber and Milling factory as loading of finished product is in progress. Also, the Post War oil boom is evident as we see multiple roughneck's hard at work on the many oil wells in the community.

On display can be seen from 1950, Lionel 2343 Santa Fe F3 ABA, Lionel 773 Hudson with freight cars and Madison passenger cars, with factory installed window silhouettes. Also, from 1950 is a Lionel 736 Berskshire with 1950 freight cars. At the bottom of the wall display is Lionel set #1479WS headed by a 2056 Hudson from 1952, this operators birthday gift in January 1953.

Don't miss the Lionel 45N Operating Gateman display showing the evolution of this iconic Lionel accessory from the first issue in 1935 to the last in 1949. The modern version of the gateman, #145 from 1950, can be seen next to a Lionel 3656 Operating Cattle Car and 3462 Operating Milk Car.

L-shaped layout construction started in 1973 and is 5' x 10' x 12' x 4'. It has been modified many times over the years. Accessories shown are mostly Post War Lionel, with a few MTH additions. It is set up to run conventional Lionel Post War and the MTH DCS digital system.
