easter
This is my 3rd annual Easter Lionel display. The layout is based on a 1960's era Lionel space and military themed display. Most of the items are Lionel Post War with some re-issues in the display. The crown jewel to the 1960's theme is the vintage aluminum pom pom tree used as an Easter egg tree. The tree features a vintage "atomic tree topper". In addition to Easter eggs, the tree is decorated with some classic space themed ornaments. The layout sits on two 24" X 80 Luan doors and was finished with dyed saw dust sprinkled over wet green paint. The layout is powered by a vintage ZW 275 watt transformer.

My first adventure in to O gauge toy trains. Around Christmas I bought a Lionel Polar Express set with a loop of track to put under the Christmas tree. It soon gave me the O gauge bug and I bought additional track, ceramic and porcelain buildings, and figures to make a complete small "North Pole" layout. The layout is made with Lionel FasTrack. All turns are O-36 and the layout is powered with a classic CW-80 watt transformer. The layout sets on an 8 x 8-foot counter top. Just thought I'd show it off. Will be expanding soon and hope to buy some Department 56 and Lemax buildings soon. Enjoy!

SP&S loved their ALCOs and apparently so too did BN as in the merger BN kept most of the C-424s and repainted them green and white. These Atlas O ALCOs SPS engines were a very small production run. It took me 5 years to locate engine #306. A dealer accidentally placed this engine in the WRONG shipping box and labeled it SD40. It stayed on a shelf from 2006 to 2013 as SD40 until the box was opened and guess who purchase #306...a real find on my layout.

Turn on your speakers and enjoy the perfect soundtrack for this fun O-gauge video! The Silver Rail Club has been providing a full day of model train activity for seniors, veterans, their families, and the general public since 2007. Here's a look at the many different locomotives, passenger sets, and rolling stock we keep moving through our traveling layout - and also down the track on the large-sized display owned by the Highbridge Model Train Club in Farmville Va. It's '3-Rail O-Scale To-Go' - enjoy!

This video features music by James Coffey off his 1997 CD, "Come Ride Along with Me." Caden's railroad was built in 2009 and moved in 2012 to it's current home in Plainfield, Illinois. The rolling stock is a mix of MTH, Lionel and Atlas, with the majority of Engines being MTH. DCS and TMCC are both used for train operation. Lionel FasTrack and switches are used exclusively. Scenicing was accomplished using a variety of Woodland Scenics, Grand Central Gems and Scenic Express products.

Here's a short video where I talk about one of my custom painted Lionel cars inspiring Lionel to make the same car. The Lionel version of this car was a part of their 1995 line and came with the 6-11747 Lionel Lines Steam Set.

This is a series of videos that I made back in 2011 covering the steps involved in creating a Lionel Dealer Display style "door layout". I used Lionel 027 tubular track on the layout. The layout was constantly evolving as I was making it.

I've been working on a semi-scale PRR style hand rail project for my layout and made a short video about the project. Working in semi-scale is very relaxing. It doesn't have to be perfect and that's what makes it fun. Hopefully folks will enjoy the video.

Whenever the Silver Rail Club sets up an event, 'Old Glory' is proudly displayed somewhere in the town on our layout! Everyone should know the meaning behind the 'stars & stripes', and the importance of our nation's flag. Model railroading is truly an 'All American' hobby, so share this video with your family, friends, and fellow rail-fans. Please post your comments below.
